Welcome to our XU Sport Management Study Abroad Blog!!

Today, we traveled from the Cincinnati Airport (CVG) to Brussels, Belgium! We left Cincinnati at 2:45 P.M. and flew into IAD (Washington, D.C.). We had a relatively short layover, and then boarded the overnight flight (7 hours!) to Brussels.

Upon arrival on Tuesday morning at the Brussels airport, we waited in line for an hour and a half to clear customs! We then had began our train journey from Brussels to Leuven, Belgium. Normally, this would've been a quick, 15-minute train ride, but due to a public transportation strike, we were required to take two different trains!

When we arrived in Leuven, we had time to get lunch before our hotel check-in. Dr. Kropp and Dr. Veraldo stayed with our bags while we ventured around in groups. Pictured here is the Leuven University library, destroyed in WWI and rebuilt with funds from American Catholic universities.

After checking into our hotel and a nap, we made a walk around the city center and enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Cafe Notre Dame (pictured in the background below). The day wouldn't be complete without a group selfie in front of Leuven's town hall.

We wrapped up the day with a sunset stroll around the beautiful city of Leuven.
